Project: MyBookshelf

MyBookshelf - is a specialized application designed to empower community librarians by providing robust tools for efficiently managing book donations, loans, and returns. This intuitive platform enables librarians to seamlessly record, track, and organize incoming book donations, as well as efficiently manage the borrowing and returning processes. With "MyBookshelf," librarians can streamline their operations, ensuring a smoother and more organized experience for both library patrons and staff alike.

The user interacts with it using a CLI, and it has a GUI created with JavaFX. It is written in Java, and has about 10 kLoC.

Given below are my contributions to the project.

• Donate: Done

  • What it does:
    • Adds the donated book to the library by its title.
    • Increases one's merit score upon donating a book.
  • Justification: Encourages community participation and enriches the library's collection.
  • Highlights: Promotes altruism and rewards users for contributing to the library's resources, by allowing them to borrow more book

• DonateParser: Done

  • What it does:
    • Parses and processes donation-related data.
  • Justification: Enables efficient handling of donation information within the system.
  • Highlights: Streamlines the process of incorporating donated items into the library's inventory.
